Christopher Guinn

Christopher Guinn has more than 35 years of global experience advancing the objectives of some of the most notable corporate brands in the world, including Johnson & Johnson, Stryker, Merck, and Novartis. This vast experience takes shape with significant expertise in the areas of medical devices, specifically wound closure, endo-mechanical, energy, robotics, pharmaceuticals, and consumer pharmaceuticals.

This experience has encompassed living and working in Europe and North America, where he has become a student of healthcare systems and structures through out the world.

Over his career, Mr. Guinn has helped develop strategic relationships with key opinion leaders, multiple industry leaders and notable medical societies, brought innovative surgical technologies to the marketplace, and led sales efforts within several leading multinational companies, Mr. Guinn has also spent much of his career developing and refining professional education in the area of medical device.

Most recently he has developed and managed the Stryker robotic curriculum for the Mako orthopedic robot. This includes overseeing the building and managing the Stryker Education Centers in the US and Europe. This responsibility includes Mr. Guinn’s membership on the Mako Global Leadership Board.

Mr. Guinn has served as President and CEO of The Health Channel, VP and General Manager for Johnson and Johnson Medical Products and multiple other positions in sales and marketing.

As Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of AIMIS, Mr. Guinn leverages this extensive experience for the benefit of the company’s member hospitals and membership. His global perspective on market trends, marketing, new products roll-out, and the uniqueness of the medical landscape enables him to set a strategic path for the company with a clarity of purpose that translates to genuine results for all constituents of AIMIS.

Steven McCarus, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.

As a developer of his own surgical technique (“the McCarus Technique for MIS hysterectomy”), Dr. McCarus is a recognized authority on pelvic minimally invasive procedures. A lecturer and preceptor in high demand, he has traveled to South Africa, Australia, Singapore and throughout the U.S. at the request of institutions who wish to benefit from his live instruction.

Dr. McCarus is currently the Chief of the Division of Gynecologic Surgery at Advent Health Winter Park in Orlando, Florida. His research resume includes dozens of published articles on laparoscopic surgeries and other advanced techniques. He also spearheaded a pioneering MIS fellowship program.

Throughout his career, Dr. McCarus has established affiliations with leading organizations such as the American Society of Women’s Health, The American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists, the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons and the Minimally Invasive Robotic Association. He is currently a Fellow with The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists.

Dr. McCarus earned his M.D. at Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington West Virginia and served his residency at Greater Baltimore Medical Center located in Baltimore, Maryland. He has been honored with the “City’s Best Doctor” designation in his hometown of Orlando, Florida.

AIMIS began as a unique collaboration between an internationally noted physician and a leading innovator of surgical technologies.

Founded in 2008 by Mr. Christopher Guinn, Medical Device Industry Expert and Co-Founder, and minimally invasive surgeon and pioneer Dr. Steven D. McCarus, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, AIMIS began in Las Vegas, Nevada, as an educational destination for teaching forward-thinking physicians advanced surgical techniques. Mr. Guinn and Dr. McCarus have partnered with numerous leaders in the medical device industry including Johnson and Johnson, Stryker Endoscopy USA and many more.

Today, Mr. Guinn, continues to be the key liaison between industry and the surgical membership, together, they continue to grow the organization with member facilities across the nation, and Dr. McCarus spearheads an AIMIS Center of Excellence in Orlando, Florida. Partnerships with corporations, insurance providers and patient advocates to further the institute’s standing as an organization dedicated to pioneering procedures with greater safety, efficacy and efficiency.
